
Environment Minister, Ricardo Giesecke Sara-Lafosse, will inaugurate the fourth edition of the IV International Exhibition of Graphic Humor-Lima 2011, traveling exhibition that will stage the talent and creativity of great masters of humor in the world to address the central theme 'Recycling'. Date: Thursday 1 September at 7.30 pm Park 'Andrés Avelino Cáceres' of San Isidro. Under the motto "Let's All Recycle”, a total of 120 works from 54 countries will be exhibited through Sunday, September 11, starting in San Isidro, and then move to the Kennedy's Park in Miraflores (September 14-25), Barranco's Central Park (September 28-October 9), Jirón de la Unión in downtown Lima (October 12-23), Real Plaza Shopping Civic Center (October 26- November 6), Main Square of Santa María Huachipa (November 9-14) and Arequipa (November 18-December 5). The host district led by its Mayor Dr. Raúl Cantella, has prepared a classy inaugural event, which will become the perfect setting for the 'Huaman Poma' Award, distinction awarded by the organization to a long career humorist and this year will be on Mexico's Arturo Kemchs Dávila, caricaturist, illustrator, cartoonist, painter and researcher. Along with him will also arrive in our country Gilmar Fraga de Oliveira (Brazil) and Alberto Montt (Chile). These three renowned artists will also be part of a series of activities planned by the organizers in this important international event, said Rocío Oyanguren, President of the Organizing Committee. The International Graphic Humor Exhibition counts once more with the valuable support of the Pan American Health Organization-PAHO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Environment, as well as companies engaged as Punto Visual and Carteleras Peruanas, committed to an event that is watched by more than 4 million people in its three-month tour.
